7 of our Favorite Baby Books

These are some of our very favorite baby books, as chosen by Lily. She is picky about her books, and I haven’t quite figured out her criteria. Some touch and feel books she enjoys over and over, others she isn’t interested in. Some are super colorful, some have a plot, some are just naming animals, and this mama is a little confused. Thank goodness for libraries to try out books for free!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Lily loves to poke her fingers in the holes, and flip ahead to her favorite page: when he turns into a beautiful butterfly!

I Love You. Lily loves this book; it’s furry and has cute little animals, and even a mirror at the end.

This Little Piggy. It has really cute illustrations to go along with the words to this common nursery rhyme, and the puppet head adds some more interest.

Dear Zoo. Lily loves to flip the flaps and reveal the animals. This has been her favorite lift-the-flap book for a long time.

Baby Bear. This has been her favorite book since she was two months old! She has always been fascinated with his puppet head (it wiggled so much haha) As she started teething, she liked to eat his head.

P is for Puppy. This is a touch-and-feel book with adorable pictures of puppies.

My Toys/Mis Juguetes. This is a great book with cute illustrations and the name of the toy in both English and Spanish.

When I read these books to Lily I utilize my reading tips for babies.

  1. This is a wonderful list of baby books! We have three of these books in our collection. Touch and feel books are at that top of our list. My toddlers are drawn to cute animals as well as bright colors!
